What is Masters in Education?


Masters in Education or M.ed is a postgraduate course that deals with the methodology of educational research and experimentation of new techniques of teaching.

This course particularly introduces you to new levels of teaching processes. It is a 2 years course divided into 4 semesters, per 2 semesters for each year. However, some universities/ colleges also offer a one-year duration M.Ed program.


Masters in Education Course Eligibility


Those who have acquired their Bachelor of Education degree can pursue a Masters Degree in Education.

Graduation with minimum 50 to 60 %
B.ed (Bachelor of Education)
B.El.Ed/BA.Ed/B.Sc.Ed

Masters in Education Course Fee


To do M.Ed you may have to pay as low as Rs.10,000 to Rs.60, 000 in government education institutes and as high as Rs.40,000 to Rs.1, 80, 000 in Private institutes.

There is a great scope for a masters in education degree person in the private as well as government sector. After M.Ed aspiring candidates can work as

Average Salary for M.Ed Degree Person


There is a lot of variation in the salary and pay scales of M.Ed. degree person. In the Government sector, these pay scales are according to state education policies. Like M.Ed. Degree person can except Rs. 40,000+ as the starting pay.

Whereas in the private sector one can expect to get nearly 20,000 to 25,000 in an average school and as high as Rs. 50,000 to Rs.60,000 in reputed schools with multiple branches across the country.
